ultra lightweight so I don’t hurt my stupid body, reliable, and will work with the video editing and blogging I’ll need to do here shortly. I have a million reasons why I went with a MacBook Air but I need to go buy charcoal so I can grill tonight~

I still need to get a gaming desktop to replace my dying one (WHY NOW, DESKTOP. WHY OF ALL TIMES RIGHT NOW) but I’m pretty pumped

I know I have a bunch of folks following me from when I did TWIMMO/The Sanctum and worked with the fantastic, talented, and just overall cool dude Mike B. He has a Tumblr. He’s had a Tumblr for a super long time. I don’t feel like enough people know this.

TL;DR The guild leader of Deeps More Deeping has stopped playing World of Warcraft, and I’m looking to see if anyone would like to take over the title so folks who play in the guild can continue hanging out.

Last week our guild leader let me know her subscription was running out, and asked if I would mind holding the Guild Leader title so it doesn’t end up on an inactive account. I agreed, and here we are.
When Chris transferred Deeps More Deeping over to Stormreaver, he knew neither of us had the time to run a guild, or lead a raid. He asked around, and eventually found a guild leader, and a raid leader. We went into Mists with a bunch of awesome members, officers, leaders, etc. Then, as it does so often, life happened.
Our raid leader ended up with a super awesome job opportunity, which unexpectedly left him without enough time to lead raids. It’s disappointing, but I can’t blame him for a second. When you get offered a job in your dream field, you don’t go, “whoa, hold on, internet people want to kill dragons.” Kind of sucked for us, but we’re very, very happy for him.
Our guild leader just drifted away from WoW. There’s really nothing wrong with this. Playing World of Warcraft is like chilling and watching TV in the evenings. It’s something you do for entertainment, and it should feel like entertainment. Over the past eight years most of us have quit for awhile, taken a hiatus, or just played really casually. A lot of people come back, some don’t, but that’s how things go in MMOs.
So, what now?
Just like before Mists launched, neither Chris nor myself have the time to lead a guild. I’m currently holding the GM position, but I would like to find someone else to promote. I don’t want to just disband the guild, because there are people still logging on regularly to play.
So here’s what’s going to happen. This post is linked in the MOTD, and in the near future I’ll be passing leadership of the guild to one of Chris’s alts. We’re doing this so if you want to continue chilling in the guild you can still have the level 25 perks, or if you want to head off somewhere else, that’s totally fine too.
Like I said above, if you feel like taking over the guild leader title, contact me and we’ll talk. I might server transfer some of my characters in the guild, so if eventually you don’t see Iatethechips around don’t panic. Just message me on Tumblr/Facebook/an alt/wherever.
ps~ I love you guys and I’ve really enjoyed everyone I’ve gotten to know in DMD. I haven’t been in WoW as much recently, but I would love to stay in contact. Please say hi to me on any of them there social networks. :3
So we were looking at apartments yesterday and the lady who showed us the one that we ended up signing the lease on (BTW WE HAVE AN APARTMENT - MOVING IN NEXT MONTH) asked us what we do and Chris said we were both in the gaming industry (which I already find hilarious because I don’t think I count) and she asked what we do in it and Chris said he’s a designer and I’m a journalist.
which I guess is technically true but
I always think of journalists as people who go to war torn countries and write really serious stories about the state of our military

I spent eight hours laying in bed trying to sleep
finally slept for four hours
woken up every 45 minutes by coughing so painfully it made me retch
so clearly it is time for the most relaxing of weekend activities

I would rather play Alliance than keep having to travel between NorCal and SoCal. I’m going to have an emotional breakdown somewhere near Fresno.
