17. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
ONLY LICKS. My teeth are sensitive to cold so biting ice cream hurts. Oh man I want frozen yogurt so much right now.
20. Have you ever met a celebrity?
I think that would depend on what you mean by celebrity. I’ve met a lot of people that are really popular online and I’ve met a lot of higher profile game devs that a lot of people look up to. I can’t think of anyone famous for film or TV that I’ve met. Although once I sent Snooki an ask on Tumblr and she answered it.
Favorite baked good?
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CARROT CAKE.

Haha you know what? The standard Jasmine Turkey Day spread includes chicken and no turkey. :p Some number of years ago I finally admitted I don’t really like turkey that much (except in sandwiches~) so mom and I started cooking delicious chickens in the place of turkeys.
When I’m home with mom we’ll also make mashed potatoes, yams, peas, and pies. :3
This year I can’t travel home (raising Deeps and already sticking him in boarding for Christmas in a few weeks - not training him for another week would be awful) so I’m spending Thanksgiving with Chris. He really just wants turkey so we’re making turkey, corn, salad, and I’m making mashed potatoes and gravy because damn it I want my gravy.
This will be my first time making gravy. D:

Tried out a bunch of different multiplayer modes (and did a couple Ops missions) but I spent most of my time last night in Flood mode. I love melee so I’m always excited when I get to be an Alpha Floooooood.

I don’t really have specific songs I listen to a ton anymore. I mostly just turn on Pandora or Spotify’s radio. If I *reeeaaally* want to listen to a specific song I’ll search for it on Spotify. I work in silence most of the time so I don’t listen to a lot of music.
10: When is the last time you played the air guitar?
I logged into RIFT a couple months ago during their free weekend event. My character’s name is Airguitar.
24: Do you have a collection of anything?
I really don’t anymore. I used to collect things when I was a little kid but now it takes a significant amount of time to convince myself to spend money on anything that isn’t absolutely necessary for living. I do have a small number of crystals I like to hang in windows to make rainbows though. <3 That might count. :3

3: Best game you’ve ever played?
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. Hands down. Ever. No contest.
4: Worst game you’ve ever played?
Honestly probably FFXIV. I’m a huge fan of MMOs and the things they managed to screw up at the launch of the game were just absurd. The game was gorgeous and I managed to have fun with Sashi since we get along so well but technically speaking it really has to be the worst game I’ve ever played.

13: A game you were the most excited for when it wasn’t released yet?
Age of Conan. I hadn’t yet been burned by repeated MMO releases that didn’t keep my attention. I had played FFXI, then SWG, and finally WoW. I was used to being really into the MMOs I bought. I thought Age of Conan was going to be my next WoW. I bought the collector’s edition, I formed a guild months before the game came out, gathered up an astonishing amount of players, and was there leveling the second the game opened.
The disappointment that followed was crushing (first MMO letdown~) but before the game came out I. was. so. pumped.
22: If you could immerse yourself in any game for one day, which game would it be? What would you do?
I would immerse myself in Tetris. I would be the long piece and I would never appear.
23: Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming?
Discovering that, because of my gender, I wasn’t viewed as equal by such a large number of my peers.

The geek/nerd cred thing is sad but it makes sense. People want to feel special. They want to feel successful. They want to feel good about themselves. One of the ways people feel better about themselves is by looking at others around them and finding ways to justify feeling superior.
I see this all the time in WoW. I’ve played since the beta of Vanilla and I see people trying to lord the fact that they’ve played since TBC over someone else who just started in Cata. Despite the fact that the Cata person knows everything that needs to be known about WoW in its current state, has raided more than the person who started in TBC, and so on.
It all comes back to the person condemning you and other people for not having enough “geek cred” not feeling secure in themselves and their interests. If they felt comfortable with who they are and what they enjoy then they wouldn’t need to lash out at other people. If they were secure in themselves they wouldn’t feel like their interests were being threatened by someone not knowing as much as they do and yet still being involved in the fandom/game/insert other nerdy activity here.
Just being geeky is no longer unique. Nerd and geek culture is so mainstream now that just having watched Dr Who or having played an MMO no longer signals that you’re entrenched in nerd/geek culture. With nerdy hobbies becoming so widely popular there’s been this uprising of indignant people who are determined to prove they’re “REAL” nerds/geeks.
When it comes to the level of someone’s experience with a game, or a fandom, or anything nerdy/geeky…
I’m all out of fucks to give. If you enjoy WoW then AWESOME! Have fun! Don’t know the boss fights from the last expansion? Whatever! Don’t know the boss fights from THIS expansion and spend all of your time leveling alts to 30? I have no idea why you picked 30 but if that makes you happy then good for you!
Same goes for liking a series, liking MMOs in general, liking movies, liking books, liking what-the-hell-ever. Come! Enjoy whatever part of nerd/geek culture you want and leave the rest. I’ll be over here enjoying the hell out of my interests and I hope you’re doing the same.

It’s sad to see for sure but nothing I was unprepared for going into this industry. Nothing will change if people continue to brush off racism, sexism, hate, discrimination, and everything else we wouldn’t put up with in the street face-to-face as “just the culture” online.
I don’t think I’ll change the entire world by refusing to shut my mouth and let abuse continue on around me but I might change just a little part of it and that’s fantastic.

I believe there’s some stuff that’s really difficult to explain in the world and I can’t really prove or disprove what happens after we die since I haven’t been dead recently.

Just IMO DJ. A polite string quartet or something similar for the ceremony and then a DJ for the reception. I appreciate a good live band but in a time like this I feel like the less variables the better. D: Just one guy with an iTunes play list please. XD

I was really happy that Twitch chat got its crap together near the end of the feed but dealing with it for an hour and a half was pretty frustrating. :( I’m hoping tomorrow goes better.
Movie: Mannnn honestly every single Harry Potter movie. They left out a lot from the books but imo they really kept the story strong.
